Report Warns Consumers of Chemicals In Cosmetics;
Industry Disputes Findings

As a general assignment reporter for the Daily Environment Report, a specialized news service of the Washington D.C.-based Bureau of National Affairs, Inc., I wrote environmental news for expert audiences on a daily basis. DER reporters are trained to use technical/exact jargon to convey information: the tone is meant to inform highly-educated readers.

Inside WTO Dissent: Cancun, Mexico

As a freelance writer living in Mexico City, the Stockholm Free Press hired me to narrate the aggregate personality of anti-globalization demonstrators. Writing for a world newspaper committed to international politics and liberal policy, the article provided a descriptive look at World Trade Organization dissent. Because the article was translated into Swedish, then edited and published, this report represents the unedited version (or first draft).

... And Now We Dance, We Celebrate

As the senior news editor for the UNLV Rebel Yell, I composed a fictional letter to the United States on behalf of an Islamic terrorist, two days after 9/11. The letter was written upon advanced coursework in Middle Eastern terrorism, and imagination. (In that Thursday issue, we used our news section to convey personal reaction: university administrators, student officials and area leaders published editorials.)

Beyond Socrates’ Notion of Political Decay: Buddhism and Political Party Development

At the time, the political science department at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas didn't offer students the local opportunity to publish their own research. After raising some $3,000, I launched Political Discourse, publishing four essays (plus one editorial) over 33 pages. My essay, authored by Thaddeus, concerned political theory because no other essay related to that area of political science.
